ASB & the Institute of Directors

We’re excited to announce our national partnership with the Institute of Directors (IoD). This partnership is a natural fit as ASB’s ambition and passion for helping businesses achieve their goals complements the IoD’s objective to strengthen the governance of New Zealand businesses.

Both organisations understand that strong governance and leadership are critical to the growth and sustainable success of New Zealand businesses, so supporting the IoD in building stronger, more informed boards is a win for all of us. The IoD promotes excellence in corporate governance and has been successful for many years in raising the standard in New Zealand through professional development, training and education for directors.

Our support for the IoD and its members includes access to teams of experts who can provide advice on a wide range of topics from management accounting, to testing a strategic plan for growth and tips for managing a business through a difficult period. We’re also exploring ways in which we can work with the IoD to help with emerging issues such as cyber security and financial regulation.

Here at ASB we’ve always understood the importance of strong governance so we’ve invested in a range of tools and services that help organisations manage their business through greater access, tempered by enhanced controls and visibility. Examples like FastNet Business and ASB Mobile Business allow for the effective segregation of duties between roles in a business; payments can be loaded in the office and then approved by a director while he or she is on the road. Our integration with Xero is another example of strong partnership which has given business owners and directors greater control over their daily business operations, without having to be tied to a desk.
