This Christmas, we asked our ASB team to nominate customers who dedicate themselves to their community, have a passion for life against all odds or in times of hardship and deserve a little festive joy in their lives.
The Larsen family have faced some serious challenges. Earlier this year, Susan’s husband Robbie was involved in an accident while working that’s left him severely injured. Robbie is based in a rehab unit in Ranui, so Susan and her school age daughter, Abby-Rose drive from their home in Taumaranui to Auckland each weekend to be with him. Robbie’s a fighter and continues to make progress, albeit slow, against all odds
After 33 years in the defence force, Robbie had been working in security to provide for the family and the accident has left them in a tough place.
All they want is for everyone to be together this Christmas. We wanted to help make that dream a reality so we’ve given them $3000 towards Christmas accommodation in Auckland and $5000 to make their festive season a little brighter. Being together as a family is all that anyone deserves at this time of year and it’s about time something good happened for them.
