ASB Polyfest is the largest Polynesian festival in the world, showcasing Auckland secondary school students’ cultural identity and heritage, bringing schools and the community together through their shared cultures. This week will see the 45th ASB Polyfest take place, at Manukau Sports Bowl with over 12,000 students from over[KS1] 75 secondary schools performing to over 100,000 spectators across the four days.
For the most part, it’s a competitive cultural festival with Cook Islands, Maori, Niuean, Samoan and Tongan cultural groups competing. There is also a Diversity stage which features performances from Fijian, Tokelau, Chinese, Korean, Indian and many more cultural groups on a non-competitive basis.
ASB is proud to celebrate 35 years of support for the ASB Polyfest. During our 35 years over 250,000 secondary school students would have performed at the festival.
ASB strives to embrace diversity and inclusion across all areas of our business and the many communities in which we operate.
At the festival this year ASB will have a Chill Zone set up for participants and supporters with:
We’ve also created a free event microsite where people can locate key information including where and when groups are performing across the 6 stages. Simply text ASB to 336 to access the event microsite.
