A Guide to our Everyday Banking Tips and Tools
02 April 2020 / Published in Your MoneyThings may feel a little different and a little uncertain right now. However you’re affected, we know managing your money can be tough in times like these. To help ease frustration, we’ve got a range of online banking tools to keep you up to date from the comfort of your home.
Below is a guide to our Everyday Banking Tips and Tools that you can access through FastNet Classic or the ASB Mobile Banking app. And, if you need to leave home to top up any essentials, we’ve also included some ways to help you pay safely.
What can I do on the ASB Mobile Banking app?
Think of your phone as a mini bank—one that’s available 24 hours, 7 days a week. It’s free to use, and offers you a fast, safe and easy way to manage your money.
Keeping an eye on your account balance and transaction history.
Checking balances and transactions is quick and easy.
Transferring money between your accounts.
Need to move some money around? Transfer money between accounts in real time.
Making and amending payments.
- Make one off payments.
- View, edit or delete scheduled and automatic payments.
Managing your ASB cards.
If you have a new ASB Visa Credit or Debit card that needs a PIN, activate it from home. Your card will then have its PIN, so you can use it straight away.
If you lose your ASB Visa Credit or Debit card while out shopping for essentials, you can lock it instantly with ASB Card Control. No one else will be able to use your card even if they find it. ASB Card Control also lets you change your PIN number, set spending limits and much more. If you do find your card, simply login and unlock it.
Setting up text alerts when money moves to and from your account.
In times like these it’s good to keep an eye on things. Know where your balance is at and avoid fees by setting alerts. You can set up alerts for:
- Overdrawn accounts—receive an alert when you go into overdraft.
- Balance below—know when your balance dips below an amount that you set.
- Balance above—know when your balance is above an amount that you set.
- Insufficient funds – get an alert when there isn’t enough balance for an upcoming automatic payment or bill payment (excludes IRD payments and direct debits as these are controlled externally, not by ASB).
Don’t have the ASB Mobile Banking app? No worries! Just make sure you’re signed up for FastNet Classic internet banking. Once you are, head to your phone’s app store and search ‘ASB Mobile Banking app’.
