What does a lead broker on an Initial Public Offering (IPO) or new issue do?

Last Updated: 21 Mar 2017

For IPOs and new issues, the lead broker is normally the main underwriter of the offer. Their role is to administer the activity surrounding the bid, including issuing the offer document, organising the syndicate and dealing with the allocation and distribution of shares.
