What happens if I make a payment to an incorrect or invalid account number?
Last Updated: 12 Jul 2016
If you pay to an invalid account number, typically what will happen is the funds will be returned to you within 1-3 working days.
If the account number is incorrect but active and belonging to someone else then the funds will remain in the incorrect account unless an agreement can be made to reverse the funds back. If this happens, contact us so we can arrange with the bank the account is held with to have the funds returned.
Please be aware that there is a $40.00 charge to recover funds and it is not guaranteed that they will be able to be returned.
