I'm new to share trading, what is a Common Shareholder Number (CSN) and where can I find it?
Last Updated: 15 Feb 2017
A Common Shareholder Number (CSN) is a single shareholder number that is common to all New Zealand share registries for all listed securities. This number is how the registry identifies your holding as separate from any other. You’ll find your CSN on the right hand corner of any Statement of Holdings issued by a NZ share registry. If you don't already have a CSN leave the space in the application blank and ASB Securities will apply for one for you.
