Government Banking
Eligible government agencies can now choose ASB to provide banking services, with the preferential rates of the MBIE All of Government banking contract.

How it works
ASB’s public sector background
ASB banks many schools and Government agencies, DHBs, universities and councils. We understand the unique requirements of the public sector, your appropriations cycle and the importance of long-term, stable relationship management. Our Government Banking team is on the ground and ready to help.
Transaction Banking
ASB can provide full transaction banking services for any Government agency, council, DHB or school that isn’t one of the 34 Public Service or Non-Public Service departments. This includes bespoke cash management and connectivity options.
Foreign exchange
Any Government agency can choose ASB for its foreign exchange management. We offer IMTs and foreign currency accounts. We can also process your international payment files. Our Global Markets team can help with forward exchange contracts and other currency instruments.
Customer payments
We can help any Government agency accept payments from the public, including businesses or other Government agencies. Our Transaction Banking team are happy to work with you to find the best payment acceptance solution or range of solutions for your agency.
Card services
Reduce your administration load with ASB's online credit card and expense management tools. Card Manager lets you issue and cancel cards to staff members and set their limits and spending rules. Your employees can temporarily lock their card with the free ASB mobile app, and our Spend Clarity for Enterprise expense management system streamlines expense processing. Every Government agency can use ASB for card services.
Additional services
As well as the banking services covered by the MBIE All of Government contract, you can call on ASB for any other banking services as well, including our online tools for managing funds held in trust and lending services, when appropriate.
