I’m a merchant, how do merchants process refunds with Google Pay?

Refunds for a Google Pay purchase are processed in a similar way to traditional refund. It is important that refunds are processed on the same card used as the original transaction.
- Merchants will need to obtain the Device or Virtual Account Number to find the purchase and process the return.
- To see the last four or five digits of the Device or Virtual Account Number, ask the customer to go to Google Pay Wallet, on the payments tab, tap the card.
- Scroll down and you will see the Device or Virtual Account Number listed.
Merchants can also have the customer hold their phone near the reader, select the card they used to make the original payment, and authorise the return with their passcode.
