I'm looking at getting contents insurance, how do I know how much I need?
Last Updated: 21 Mar 2023
ASB Contents Insurance is based on a 'sum insured' amount that you determine. There are also limits on what we'll pay for certain types of contents. If you have any items worth more than the limits shown in the policy wording, you can list them on your policy seperately as 'specified items'. This allows you to cover each item for the amount you specify. Adding any specified items to your policy will affect your total premium.
Note that you don't need to include the value of any specified items in your contents sum insured, as these items are covered separately.
For more information, you can check out the Contents Insurance sum insured page or view the full details in the policy document.
