How do I set up Google Pay?
Last Updated: 28 May 2019
You can set up and add cards to Google Pay from within the ASB Mobile app or alternatively in the Google Pay app.
Before you add your cards, you will need to ensure the NFC functionality is switched on and set up a screen lock on your phone. If you turn off the screen lock, there are Google Pay features that will remove any cards you have added to Google Pay for your security.
ASB Mobile app
- Log in to the ASB Mobile app from your Android phone, select ‘Cards and Devices’ from the menu and choose the card you want to add.
- Click the “Add to G Pay” button, follow the prompts, and read and accept the terms and conditions.
- That’s it. You can now start using Google Pay.
Google Pay app
- Launch the Google Pay app. You may be prompted to download Google Pay from the Google Play Store.
- Select ‘Add a card’.
- Follow the prompts, and read and accept the terms and conditions.
You must also remember to make sure your tap and pay settings are correct on your Android device. This can be done through your device Settings menu by searching, ‘Tap and Pay’ to ensure your default mobile payment service is set to Google Pay.
