I'm in Online Share Trading, what do I need to know about sell orders?
When you’re selling New Zealand stocks on the New Zealand Stock Exchange (NZX), the number of units you’re selling should be currently available under your Common Shareholder Number (CSN) and Faster Identification Number (FIN).
If you are selling CHESS sponsored stock on the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX), the number of units to be sold should be currently available in your ASB Securities/Finclear Execution Ltd sponsored holdings.
ASB Securities does not hold any record of your FIN (for other than nominee clients), which we’ll need in order to sell your NZ securities. Please obtain your FIN from the relevant share registry before placing a sell order.
All sell orders will be valid for 20 business days and will then expire whether or not the order has traded in part. Please be aware you are responsible for replacing your orders.
