Other important questions and answers when travelling:

Q: How can I get in touch with ASB from overseas?

A: Phone us on +64 9 306 3000 or send us a My Message via FastNet Classic internet banking.

Q: Can I use NetCode overseas?

A: If you have a Netcode token, it will work just fine overseas. If you usually receive Netcode by TXT, it will depend on your mobile provider's coverage. With roaming set up, it should be fine, but we cannot guarantee delivery of your Netcode TXT overseas.

Q: Can I get my travel insurance through ASB?

A: Yes, ASB offers travel insurance. You can call a travel insurance specialist on 0800 925 566 to get it set up.

Q: What if I have payments due whilst I’m away?

A: If you have internet access, you can still manage all your payments via FastNet Classic internet banking. If you have roaming set up, you may be able to access the ASB Mobile Banking app and make payments. If you are unsure if you will have access to either FastNet Classic or the mobile banking app, you can set up either an automatic payment or bill payment to ensure your payments go through.

Or you can set this up at any ASB branch, or by calling us on 0800 803 804.

Q: What should I do if I plan to use my card while I’m away?

A: It’s helpful to let us know when and where you are travelling to. You can do this by calling our travel line on 0800 925 566 or by sending us a Secure Message in FastNet Classic internet banking. If you have the mobile banking app, make sure your ASB Visa card is unlocked and you’ve got your “In-store international transactions” setting turned on, using ASB Card Control.
