Pay someone
How to pay a person or one-off bill using the app, saving you a trip to the branch.
We often update the ASB Mobile Banking app to provide a more secure experience for our customers. This also means we are unable to support some of the older operating systems as we upgrade our security. You'll find the answers to questions on supported systems and devices below.
The ASB Mobile app works on:
To use the ASB Mobile app you'll need:
To download and setup the app:
1. Visit the Google Play store or the Apple App Store to download the app.
2. Once downloaded, enter your FastNet Classic internet banking login details on the registration screen.
3a. If you're registered for Netcode, we'll send you a Netcode via text or on your token that will verify the ASB Mobile app on your device. Enter this Netcode number when you're asked for it.
3b. Alternatively, if you're not registered for Netcode, this step won't be displayed and you'll only be able to make payments totalling $1,000 per day in the app. Netcode is a two-step verification method that adds an extra layer of security to help us make sure it's really you when completing certain banking activities on your ASB account. To register, call us on 0800 327 863 (overseas +64 9 306 3000 toll charges may apply).
4. Confirm your mobile number in the app so that you can receive payments straight into your bank account when someone sends you money via the 'Pay to mobile' feature.
5. Confirm which one of your accounts will be the default account selected to send or receive payments. If you do not have a transaction account, this step will not be displayed.
6. Set and confirm your PIN number or password. Tip: if you want to use biometrics for logging in, go to Settings > Security > and turn on 'Fingerprint log in' if you're using an Android device or 'FaceID' if you're using an iOS device. You can see a detailed guide for this here.
7. You should receive a message confirming your registration was successful.
To reduce the risk to customers of device software vulnerabilities and enable ASB to use the latest technology for an even better mobile banking experience, we may ask customers to upgrade their devices to newer versions of mobile operating system software.
ASB occasionally update the minimum supported operating system version for the ASB Mobile Banking app. We consider current and projected usage as part of our decisions about operating system support.
The CERT NZ Own Your Online website explains why it is important for you to keep up with your updates.
