Can I use my fingerprint / Face ID to log into the ASB Mobile Banking app?
Yes, you can log in to the ASB Mobile Banking app using your fingerprint / Touch ID or Face ID and access most in-app activities without entering your PIN or password. Please note there are a few activities that still require your PIN or password for further security, e.g. Forgot PIN.
Depending on the type of mobile device you have, there are different options that enable you to use Apple Touch ID / Face ID or Android Fingerprint Authorisation. This enables you to use biometric authorisation to log into ASB Mobile and replace the need for a PIN or password.
To enable Touch ID or Face ID log in for Apple devices:
- Ensure Touch ID / Face ID is enabled on your device.
- Log in to the ASB Mobile Banking app.
- Open the 'More' menu in the bottom bar.
- Tap 'Settings'.
- Under the 'Security' header
- Choose 'Touch ID / Face ID'.
- In 'Allow Touch ID / Face ID for Log in' select on.
Remember, we automatically disable Touch ID / Face ID for ASB Mobile, if the biometrics stored on your device are changed. You can turn Touch ID / Face ID back on in the ASB Mobile app by following the above steps.
To enable fingerprint log in for Android devices:
- Ensure fingerprint is enabled on your device.
- Log in to the ASB Mobile Banking app.
- Open the 'More' menu in the bottom bar.
- Tap 'Settings'.
- Under the 'Security' header
- Choose 'Fingerprint log in'.
- In 'Allow fingerprint for log in' select on.
Remember, we automatically disable Fingerprint Login for ASB Mobile, if the biometrics stored on your device are changed. You can turn Fingerprint Login back on in the ASB Mobile app by following the above steps.
