How do I change the type of ASB credit card I have?
ASB offers a range of credit cards to suit your needs and you can apply to change your credit card easily through FastNet Classic internet banking or the ASB Mobile Banking app.
To apply to change your credit card via FastNet Classic internet banking:
- Log into FastNet Classic internet banking.
- Open the menu in the top left of the screen.
- Under ‘Cards’ select ‘Change card type’.
- Fill in the form.
To apply to change your credit card via the ASB Mobile app:
- Log into the ASB Mobile app.
- Tap 'More' at the bottom right of the accounts screen.
- Tap ‘Open & Apply'.
- Find ‘Change Card Type’ then tap 'Apply online'.
- Fill in the Change Card Type form.
Once you have received and successfully completed a PIN on your new ASB Visa credit card, any balance on your previous card will be transferred automatically to your new credit card, and your old credit card account will be closed overnight. If you have a joint or additional card on this account, the first cardholder that successfully completes the PIN activation process will close your old credit card account.
If the new card is not pinned within 25 days, ASB will automatically transfer any balance and close the old credit card account. Remember you will need to update any providers that you pay regularly (like bill payments) with your new card details. To view transactions on your old credit card account, use the 'Search and Export' feature in FastNet Classic internet banking.
