Last Updated: 12 Jul 2022

You'll need to contact us to cancel a Direct Debit. The best way to get in touch with us is by sending a message in FastNet Classic internet banking and one of our team will try to reply within the same business day. If you've forgotten your ASB login password, you can reset your password using the ASB Mobile Banking app.

Alternatively, you can visit any ASB branch

You won't need to complete any forms, simply advise of the account number from which the Direct Debit is paid, and the name of the company charging you. If you're visiting us in branch, make sure you have photo ID with you, as we have to establish your identity in order to do this.

We can cancel the Direct Debit authority from our end however, Direct Debits are controlled by the company you are paying. Deleting a Direct Debit Authority will stop any further deductions from your account under that authority. If you have other payments going to this same company, cancelling the direct debit authority will also affect these. Once the Authority has been deleted from your account, the company will not be notified until they next try to charge your account, at which point the charge will decline.

For credit cards:

You'll also need to contact us to cancel a Direct Debit that is set to pay your ASB Credit card. As above, the best way to get in touch with us is by sending a message in FastNet Classic and one of our team will try get back to you within the same business day.

To cancel recurring transactions to your credit card account, you'll need to get in touch with the organisation that holds your recurring payment authority.
