Why is the interest charged on my credit card different to what I expected?

Last Updated: 01 Dec 2016

When a payment is made to an ASB credit card account, the payment is allocated to transaction types according to a hierarchy. If you have undertaken a balance transfer, cash advance or have dishonoured payments – how your payment is allocated to your outstanding balance and the interest charged may be different to what you expected. Please refer to the 'Allocation of Payments' and ‘Interest’ sections in the Credit Card Conditions of Use for details.
