Why should I use the ASB ID app?
New Zealand Anti-Money Laundering (AML) laws require us to confirm the identity and address of all of our customers.
The app lets you use your mobile phone to scan your e-passport (recommended), or New Zealand driver licence and take a scan of your face, selfie-style. That usually gives us all the information we need to confirm your identity without having to come to a branch.
You can also use the ASB ID app to prove your address. It must be one of these approved documents, received in the last 12 months, show your name and home address, and be smaller than 1MB.
You can upload a PDF or JPEGs in ASB ID, or use the ASB ID app to take and upload photos of the document.
You can download the ASB ID app at the Google Play Store or the Apple App Store.
If you'd prefer to confirm your identity in person, please call 0800 803 804 to make an appointment at your nearest branch.
