How do I register for two-step verification using the ASB Mobile Banking app?
If you meet the eligibility criteria, you'll be able to complete two-step verification using the ASB Mobile app.
You can use your app to approve two-step verification requests for:
- Logging in to FastNet Classic internet banking.
- Making one-off payments in internet banking.
- Verifying your identity on the phone.
To verify that you are eligible:
- You should ensure you have the latest version of the ASB Mobile app to ensure compatibility with two-step verification. See How do I update the ASB Mobile Banking app?
- You must be registered for Netcode. See How do I register for Netcode?
- Your ASB Mobile app must be Netcode verified.
To check if your app is Netcode verified, follow these steps below:
- Log in to the ASB Mobile app.
- Select ‘More’ in the bottom right-hand corner.
- Select ‘Settings’.
- Select ‘Security’.
If your app is Netcode verified, it will show ‘ON’ next to ‘Netcode verified’.
If your app is not Netcode verified, it will show ‘OFF’. Tap on this to begin the Netcode verification process.
You should ensure that push notifications are enabled in your device settings. To check if your device has push notifications enabled, follow these steps below:
For iOS:
- Open the ‘Settings’ app.
- Scroll to ‘ASB Mobile’.
- Select ‘Notifications’.
- Ensure ‘Allow notifications’ is enabled.
For Android:
- Open the ‘Settings’ app.
- Select ‘Notifications’.
- Select ‘ASB Mobile’.
- Swipe right on the toggle bar to enable notifications.
You may be asked to complete two-step verification when we detect something unusual about your login attempt. If you would like to require two-step verification for all internet banking login attempts, see how to enable Netcode at login.
