What is Netcode at login?
Netcode at login is a two-step verification option that helps make sure it’s really you when logging in to FastNet Classic internet banking. This extra layer of security helps protect your account from fraudulent activity and is free to use.
If you enable Netcode at login, you will be required to complete two-step verification by using the ASB Mobile Banking app, entering a Netcode sent to you by text message, or entering a Netcode from a Netcode token.
Here’s how you set it up:
- Log in to FastNet Classic internet banking
- Select your Profile in the top right-hand corner (click on your name)
- Select Netcode at login and choose Yes
- Click Submit
With Netcode at login turned on, you’ll still use your username and password to log in to FastNet Classic internet banking, but you’ll also be prompted to enter the Netcode sent to you in a TXT message or on your token. Netcode at login is not required when logging into the ASB Mobile Banking app.
Once logged in, you may be prompted for another Netcode for banking activity.

How do I register for Netcode?
Please note: Netcode via SMS is free to use if you have a New Zealand mobile phone number, but please check with your provider in case there are charges to receive international text messages. Since we rely on international phone providers to send our Netcode SMS to international phone numbers, we cannot guarantee you’ll be able to receive Netcode SMS to your international phone number.
